happy one week old

vivi (pronounced viv-ee)
happy one week old my baby baby girl! one week later and you're wearing your leaving the hospital outfit again...geeez! it's like you're a poor baby or something. it's been a rough week but i'm slowly recovering and in another couple of days i should be my pre pregnancy weight. i'm like those celebrities that are out shopping in their regular clothes a few weeks afer giving birth and everyone's supposed to be super amazed at how skinny they are again. it's nice to be skinny again though...i'll finally be able to try on my new forever 21 stuff and my h&m clothes. yah being skinny! it's really one of those things that you can't get enough of, good thing i still have a relatively fast metabolism that lets me eat whatever the hell i want.the big brother and big sister
he's being his usual tv monster self and she's causing trouble like always...i'm gonna have my hands full with these three. luckily i'm still young and have energy i have no idea how older moms can handle toddlers they take up so much energy.

sometimes it's pretty stressful being a parent, there's so much more you have to consider before making any changes to your life. when i was younger i asked my dad why he used an exercise bike at home rather than ride a bike outside and get some fresh air; he told me that it was dangerous riding your bike on the streets and he had to minimize the amount of danger he put himself in because he had a family to take care of. at the time i was really young so i just figured he was being overly dramatic but now that i have my own kids i understand what he's talking about. suddenly all the choices that i make in my life have to be thought through so much more carefully and i can't live my life selfishly any longer. i was looking at all the halloween pictures that everyone's been posting online and for a little while i felt a slight tinge of jealously for the fun everyone else was having but after seeing my babes i realized i'm not the one with the short end of the stick and i've just chosen a different path.

welcome to the family vivi

mommy, oli, daddy, vivi

so i finally had my baby girl at 8:04am on monday and i think she's absolutely perfect. i'm still feeling like ass and i wasn't able to celebrate halloween with the babies this year but i'll make it up to them next year when i'm fully mobile. i'm pale as a ghost right now but the nurse told me that i'll get a lot of the color back in my face if i keep taking my prenaetal vitamins.

green tea monster and my current loves

this week i love...
laneige strawberry yogurt peel: initially i was a little skeptical about this product since i've never used a decent korean skin care product but the reviews seemed amazing and it was one of the top 10 items on the website i was checking out so i thought what the hey. my tube didn't end up coming with english instructions so i used it wrong the first time (wet in the shower) but after watching pink's video tutorial on how to use it i've seen the light and realized just how amazing this product is. after scrubbing my face just a few times i ended up with an assload of dead skin which may also be the wash drying up and clumping...either way after using it 3 times i've found that my complexion is more even and a lot softer. this product is definately a keep and i will be stocking up as soon as my mom goes to hong kong since the canadian dollar is such shit right now i can't buy anything online. boooo!

olivia madison: my baby girl...pretty soon she's gonna be a big sister and i think she's gonna handle it pretty well...hopefully. gosh i love her cheeks i just want to bite them off.
majolica majorca mascara primer: i'm completely in love with this primer! today i forced my sister to try it, she only did one eye and left the other one bare so she looked a little mental but it really showed the difference the primer would make. originally i bought this cause the packaging is just so cute and i love gold colored things but for once i'm so glad i'm a sucker for cute packaging! i loves me some curl curl up to the sky (that's what it's called) i love fob products they're awesome.
loc maria crepes assortment: i freaking love these things they're so delicious! i'm not totally sure if it's just my crazy pregnancy cravings but i've been fiending for these things for months now and i finally got me some from west coast costco.
you get 4 packages in one tin (one's missing cause i gave it to my sister) two packages of milk chocolate, one dark chocolate, and one chocolate with a hint of caramel. mmmm....yum! i've pretty much destroyed that first package by myself but it's alright cause i'll probably grab a few more tins before i head back to the east side. once you bite into one of these bad boys you get a thin crispy cookie like crepe that is covered with a thin layer of chocolate. these are definately a costco must have over the winter months cause they're not available all year long.
daddy: falling into position number one this week is this guy. how could i not love him the most for waiting at the airport for almost 5 hours and then flying across the country just to see me for 5 days before flying all the way back for work again. hopefully i'll be able to have the baby while he's here or else he won't get to see his youngest child for a while. i love this one.

green tea monster

i looked so good that i thought i should post a picture of myself using a green tea and vitamin e oil mask. i recently read on another blog that this is really good for your skin and since she and i have the same skin type (normal/combination) i decided to give it a try. a little green tea mixed with a little vitamin e oil slathered all over your face for 15 minutes...what do i have to lose? it was actually quite messy applying it so if anyone else plans on trying this out i highly suggest doing it over your bathroom sink...vitamin e is pretty sticky and hard to wipe up.

recent buys

isn't this freaking cute?!?!? they're salt and pepper shakers that hug each other! the holes are in their faces so it kinda looks like they're little ghosts. i love buying random kitchen crap that is completely impractical but just so damn cute. plus i have guests coming over this next month and since i won't be in town for any of these visitors i thought i should make the kitchen look a little more me before i left.

oh and here's another picture of my baby girl from last night. she looks like a linebacker that's about to attack someone. i know i'm so in love with her! she makes the funniest faces.

baking baking

i've been trying to bake more lately since the kids are getting older and i'd rather they snacked on things that i know the exact ingredients for rather than preservative packed store bought crap. my first attempt was a blueberry muffin with a struesel topping, which i thought was delicious! but it was too sweet for almost everyone else. whatever though i'll probably make it again since the presentation was pretty and it was simple to make. the picture to the right was a raspberry white chocolate muffin. it turned out alright but wasn't really that great or popular in the household as none of us really like raspberries or white chocolate. i'm still feeling out the new camera and the manual focus so the picture is a lil bit out of focus but i'll figure it out sooner or later.

this was my very first try at baking fresh bread and the end result was very monet. it was really nice from far away but once you get up close it turned into a big ol' mess. never again will i follow a recipe from a skeezy looking guy from youtube. also, no knead bread will probably end up being no eat bread as well. well at least now i know that if i want to make bread properly you MUST knead the crap out of it and let it RISE!! i'm gonna try this bread thing again later this week before i head back to vancouver cause my baby boy will not eat anything but carbs.

oli's 1st birthday

here's my baby girl from a few months ago, i love how she's sitting i the trunk space of the wagon which is now her designated spot when we go for park outtings. she's 1 year old already and it kinda makes me sad to think about how fast the past year went by. we didn't really do much for her birthday this year and just kept it a low key family event since her uncle and future aunt were in town visiting. i did manage to bake her a cake which was my very first successful attempt at baking. can you see the heart on top of the circular cake. i know the colors are so fourth of july but these were the sweetest freshest fruits i could find in the garbage they call supermarkets here in montreal. she was a little apprehensive about destroying it at first cause i'm pretty sure she thought she would get in big trouble but after feeling it out a bit she destroyed this sucker. none of the adults ate any of this cake though and we bought a mediocre strawberry cheesecake from a once delicious bakery later that night. no pictures of that thing but it was pretty not special so it did not deserve a picture.

here she is destroying the cake and at the same time her pretty new dress. don't worry! someone is sitting behind her and she didn't fall off the table. later that night came birthday presents which ended up being more fun for her brother and uncle. i don't think there are any pictures of the present opening but she got a bunch of new clothes, a hello kitty beauty salon, a dora/diego bath toy and this baby thing that balls go through tubes and bounce on things. i loooove birthdays especially baby ones cause they're just so happy and innocent and not greedy for more presents. i'm gonna enjoy these moments cause i'm not really looking forward to getting presents for ungrateful teenagers in about 10 years.

on a more beauty related note, body shop is offering a 10 dollar off coupon for any purchase over 10 dollars. however in redflagdeals.com someone posted that they bought something for 4.50 with the coupons with no questions asked. it may have just been an oblivious sales girl but either way if you're looking for something at body shop here's your chance to save some money.

i really don't remember how to post the link using HTML so you're gonna have to copy and paste this if you're interested:

i love the zoo!!

i went to the granby zoo the other day with my little boy, bigger little boy, youngest brother in law and furture sister in law. i was pretty excited about going to the zoo before i even got there but once i got there and saw just how huge it was i was freaking out like a kid on their birthday! the drive was a little far and it took about an hour to get there but it was well worth the time. we saw some elephants, giraffes, zebras, gorillas, lions, ostriches...and that was only in the africa area! i'm definately gonna go back there for another trip with a better camera *i finally bought the camera i wanted from the last post*.

here i am with my sweet pea! i know he looks a bit like a racoon but he fell on his face while running the other day and he ended up with a bump on the forehead and two black eyes. i also know that i shouldn't be holding him while 8 months pregnant but whatever...just don't let my mom find out.

the flamingos were so pretty too! i've never seen real ones before and when they were sleeping they kinda looked like the fake plastic ones you buy from ghetto decoration stores.

this attention seeking giraffe came right up to the deck where we were eating and we were this close to it! it was so close i could smell how bad he stunk!!

we also saw a whole bunch of other animals but i'm too lazy to post all of them. if anyone visits montreal in the non freezing months you should totally go to the granby zoo! it's pretty freaking awesome! we're planning on doing another trip to the lion safari thing but i don't think it's gonna be as cool as this trip. we're probably gonna go next week so i'll post about that soon!
